Incontinence products provide a basic need for individuals experiencing bladder control issues. The benefits they provide have a significant positive impact on quality of life. Increasing independence, confidence and freedom of movement allows people to engage in social activities and enjoy full and active lives.

Incontinence is very common: 1 in 3 women and 1 in 8 men experience issues with bladder control at some point in their lives*. However, the social and psychological stigma attached to the condition persists. Essity, the maker of TENA® incontinence products, has been working for many years to educate people about incontinence, to open a dialogue in order to break through the stigma and to normalize the condition.

Essity works with a number of scientific organizations to raise standards of incontinence care, support incontinence research and improve the training and information provided to healthcare professionals. This work is vital in initiating dialogue, challenging the taboos surrounding incontinence and improving the quality of life for people who experience incontinence.

In the U.S., Essity partnered with leading men's health and prostate cancer advocacy organizations, Men's Health Network and Us TOO International, to improve the education and awareness around incontinence as it relates to prostate cancer.

Knowing the deep emotional impact incontinence has on family caregivers, we sought to provide guidance and support to this huge and growing population of individuals who are taking care of an aging loved one.

We also created Core Wellness, a program developed with leading experts to improve pelvic core muscle strength and increase overall wellbeing. Studies show that following the pelvic floor program can cure stress urinary incontinence in two out of three women, as well as improve posture and overall strength.
