SCA to become two listed companies: the forest products company SCA and the hygiene and health company Essity
April 06, 2017 - Today, at the Annual General Meeting of SCA, the company’s shareholders voted in favor of the Board of Director’s proposal to split the Group into two listed companies. One of these will continue to operate as SCA, an efficient and well-invested forest products company that will include the forest products operations and all forest land currently owned by the Group. SCA’s hygiene business, including the current business areas of Personal Care (including the recently acquired BSN medical) and Tissue will become a leading global hygiene and health company operating under the name Essity. April 03, 2017 - SCA’s acquisition of BSN medical, a leading medical solutions company, has been closed. The company develops, manufactures, markets and sells products within wound care, compression therapy and orthopedics. The purchase price for the shares amounts to EUR 1,400m and takeover of net debt to approximately EUR 1,340m1). SCA consolidates BSN medical as of April 3, 2017. Read More.

January 05, 2017 - Swedish Paper Giant May Ditch Timber To Focus On Growth Markets: Napkins And Adult Diapers by Daniel Fisher, Forbes Staff - SCA recently announced plans to spin out its paper mills and timberland representing about 6% of Sweden’s land mass in order to focus on its faster-growing hygiene business. That business includes paper napkins and toilet paper, where SCA’s Tork brand is No. 2 in the U.S. commercial market following its $513 million purchase of Wausau Paper in January. But the real growth vehicles are feminine products and adult diapers, which, if you think about it, have nowhere to go but up in the aging developed markets as well as in China, where the population is also growing older fast. Yoga May Help Reduce Side Effects Of Prostate Cancer Treatment
June 29, 2016 - According to a study conducted by the University of Pennsylvania, patients who were able to complete the yoga classes while receiving radiation therapy had better results in terms of their urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction. They also reported a considerable improvement in their fatigue levels related to their cancer, a side effect typically observed in 60 percent to 90 percent of cancer patients. Read More.

August, 12, 2014 - Many women experience bothersome urine loss with laughing, coughing and sneezing (stress urinary incontinence) AND on their way to the bathroom (urge urinary incontinence). When women experience both types of urine leakage, their condition is called mixed urinary incontinence. It is estimated that 20 to 36 percent of women suffer from mixed urinary incontinence, which is challenging to diagnose and treat because symptoms vary and guidelines for treatment are not clear. Mind Over Bladder: Stress and Incontinence
July 30, 2014 - Relaxing the mind may be powerful when it comes to reducing bladder urge issues, according to a new study completed at the University of Utah. Thirty women participated in an eight-week study and were followed for one year comparing the impact of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) with yoga on urinary urge incontinence, a challenge faced by as many as 26 percent of women in the United States.
