Economic Responsibilities

In the communities in which we are based, SCA, maker of TENA® incontinence products, believes it's important to build partnerships with grassroots organizations to create practical solutions that enhance the local economy. At our Bowling Green, Kentucky facility we have established a working relationship with Green Innovations, where recycled materials are placed in various post-consumer goods. And in Drummondville, Quebec we have implemented materials rationalization programs to lower the amount of local raw materials used in production.

As a result, we've been honoured in Bowling Green with a Community Impact Award for contributing to over a dozen of local charities and participating in the Business Education Partnership at Warren East High School. And in Drummondville, SCA was a finalist at the Mercuriades Contest in 2008, considered to be the most prestigious competition focusing on business excellence in Québec.

To ensure our manufacturing processes are as efficient as possible, we use state-of-the-art technology in all our North American factories. We follow an Environmental Management System developed by the International Organization of Standardization (ISO 14001) to ensure continued compliance and improvements in reducing our environmental impact and increasing energy efficiency.

SCA takes pride in providing a safe, fair and inspiring working environment. To help ensure that we run our business according to our core values, 'Respect, Excellence and Responsibility,' we have developed a Code of Conduct with guidelines on health and safety, human rights, business ethics, employee relations and community involvement.
